Back to homeWho this policy covers
This policy describes how the Soonara Android app handles information. Soonara is designed to work offline. It has no account, event sync, advertising, analytics, or crash reporting service.
Information stored on your device
Soonara stores the event details you add, including titles, dates, favorites, and the icon or cover selected for each event. If you choose a gallery photo, Android's photo picker lets you select it and Soonara copies it to the app's private storage. The app also stores preferences such as your theme, widget selections, and local state used to decide when an optional Google Play review prompt is eligible.
Event details and selected photos are used to show countdowns in the app and in widgets you add to your home screen. Widget content may be visible to anyone who can see your device's home screen.
Information sent outside Soonara
Soonara does not send your event details or photos to a Soonara server or to the developer. The app has no account or cloud sync, and your event data is not sold.
If you use the optional in-app review flow, Google Play's review service processes usage information to provide it. If you submit a rating or comment, Google uses it for your Play Store review; for apps in a closed test, a review may be shared privately with the developer. Google says review data is encrypted, and you can delete a review through your Google Play or Google account. Soonara does not receive your review result or include your event details or photos in a review request. See Google's Privacy Policy for more information about Google's handling.
If you choose Contact support, Soonara opens an email in an app on your device. No message is sent until you review and send it. The email app and provider handle the message and any details you choose to include.
Backups and restore
When you choose Save a backup, Soonara writes your events and selected photos to a ZIP file at the destination you select through Android's document picker. That destination may be local or may be provided by a cloud-storage service; its provider's privacy and security practices apply. When you restore a backup, Soonara reads the file you select and imports its contents into local app storage. Soonara does not upload the backup.
Permissions and system features
Android's photo and document pickers are used when you select a photo or backup file. Soonara also receives the system's device-restart and date/time-change broadcasts so it can refresh its home-screen widgets. The app does not request broad access to your photos or files, contacts, microphone, or location.
Retention and deletion
Soonara keeps event data and selected photos in its private app storage until you delete an event or uninstall the app. You can delete events from within Soonara. Uninstalling removes Soonara's app-private data. ZIP backups saved outside the app are separate files; delete them using the storage location or provider where you saved them. Soonara's Android rules exclude app-private data from cloud backup and Android-to-Android device transfer. ZIP backups you save yourself are separate from those system transfers.
Security
Event data and selected photos are stored in Android app-private storage. A backup ZIP is saved to the location you choose, so protect it using the security options of that device or storage provider. Your device lock and security settings also help protect locally stored data.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Soonara's data practices change. The latest version will appear on this page with a revised effective date.
